the blog has been silent more by choice than necessity since then. \u00a0I found it extremely difficult to get into the holiday spirit this year &#8211; it was a portrait season full of illness, rain and an injury so I was already feeling overwhelmed and then the shooting in Newtown happened and it just kind of knocked my socks off &#8211; so hard to get excited about shopping and presents when there are 27 families in Newtown that have just buried their babies. \u00a0My heart has just been so heavy since I heard the news.<\/p>\n<p>I am participating in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheOliviaAct?group_id=0\" target=\"_blank\">The Olivia Act\u00a0<\/a>&#8211; it was inspired by one of the victims of the Newtown shooting that had just had family portraits taken and it&#8217;s purpose is to provide photo memories to a family that may not otherwise be able to afford a portrait session. \u00a0I am excepting nominations through Dec 31st &#8211; if you know a family that is deserving of this gift please email me at info@kapturedbykristenphotography.com with their name and contact info and a little about why you are nominating them &#8211; I will select a family on Jan 1st and they will be contacted to schedule their session. \u00a0Please contact me with any questions and please keep the families of the victims in your prayers.<\/p>\n<p>I do want to go back and post some of my holiday sessions &#8211; since I did just over 60 holiday sessions and minis they won&#8217;t all make the blog &#8211; especially since I&#8217;ll be back up and shooting in another week but I will do my best to get as many up as possible \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0I spent an afternoon with these two handsome brothers (and their parents) at the beach &#8211;
