Pretty in pink

This was my third time hanging out with this family and their little girl just gets cuter and cuter. I just love her long curls and beautiful blue eyes.

graces . . .

1. Uncle Josh is home from “cago” and Christian is thrilled!
2. Ordered my copy of Hunger Games – can’t wait to watch it again!
3. Portraits with my 100mm lens – I always thought 50mm was my favorite but I’m loving the 100!
4. Hung out with the sweetest newborn baby boy on Friday – when I was getting my blankets and backdrops ready to go I realized I hadn’t had a newborn boy in over a year – my newborns have all been girls lately!
5. Christian is loving his Laurie Berkner cd – he sings along with a few of the songs – too cute!

Sweet sibs at the beach

I have had this adorable family in front of my camera 7 or 8 times – since their daughter was just a few months old. So I have no idea why when I was looking back to find a comparison post I could not find one single post from their past sessions – they must always book during my bad blogger periods 😛 I am trying very hard not to get into that rut again – I am even going to try and blog through holiday portrait season which is normally an impossible feat! Anyhow, these adorable kiddos are the cousins of the two little beauties in this post – lots of beautiful faces in this family aren’t there!

graces . . .

1. A fun morning with my little guy at Seaside Lagoon – haven’t been there since I was in high school!
2. A nice breeze through the windows today while I work – thankful for a slightly cooler day.
3. Shooting a backyard wedding tonight! Love, love, love small intimate weddings 🙂
4. Little guy is feeling better after a bout of pink eye and an ear infection this week – hate when he’s sick 🙁
5. Captured a few adorable videos of Christian this week – he is trying to repeat everything we say now and the pronounciation is just too cute!

Family is Forever

I’d like you to meet Chad and Sheila

and their two beautiful girls

this is a family that is very dear to my heart. You may recognize them from this shoot with Sheila’s family. Sheila and I played softball together at West High – we kept in touch over the years since then mostly via Facebook and the occasional run in around town. I was of course thrilled for her when I found out she was getting married to Chad. On the surface they appear to be a beautiful happy family but the truth is that Chad has been battling appendix cancer since the beginning of their marriage. They have endured more in the last few years than some do in a lifetime and their battle rages on as after two major surgeries, chemo and countless scans the doctors still found some disease remaining in his abdomen. Chad is the inspiration behind the Change For Chad Foundation which raises money for families in Chad’s position who are unable to work due to their illness and are struggling to provide for their families. The fact that so many people have rallied around Chad and Sheila is a true testament to the kind of people they are. Throughout this journey they remain positive, have smiles on their face despite the pain they are in and do everything they can to maintain a stable, loving home for their girls. I always feel so welcome and like family when I am with them. The Change For Chad Foundation puts on a couple fabulous events each year – coming up in September is their dinner and silent auction. Please visit their page to read more about Chad or to find out how you can get involved. If you have something fabulous to donate to the silent auction please let me know!

A few more pics from their shoot – Chad brought his mom and sisters along too 🙂

He is just surrounded by beautiful women isn’t he?! 🙂 And they all need him healthy so please keep them in your prayers that he will beat this cancer beast soon!

Three months :)

I could hardly believe when this little beauty’s mama contacted me to schedule three month pics – felt like we just had her newborn session – man the time flies! Poor little gal was a bit under the weather so our shoot was shorter than normal but she did give us some sweet smiles 🙂

graces . . .

1. Preschool drop off went smoothly this morning! So happy my little guy is adjusting so well!
2. There is a page ripped out of the book we read every night before bed (wonder who did that?!) and every time we get to it C has to call his dad in to show him that his book is “broke” – too cute!
3. Keen on Zulily tomorrow – love their sandals for my little guy!
4. Holiday minis are about half full! Can’t wait to see everyone!
5. Breakfast burritos at mom’s tomorrow for dinner – my favorite 🙂

Little sister :)

I have had the pleasure of hanging out with this gorgeous family a few times a year for the last three years or so. They recently added a beautiful baby girl to their family and I finally got a chance to meet her a few weeks ago. I just loved her little dress and shoes – I know her mama is having lots of fun shopping for a girl after two boys 🙂

graces . . .

1. Steve’s – haven’t been there in sooo long – forgot how yummy the jr. cheeseburger is and brought back memories of stopping after school for fries 🙂
2. Shot a beautiful rehearsal dinner on Saturday evening and ran into Turtle from Entourage when I was leaving the restaurant – so fun!
3. My little guy is talking more and more – trying to repeat anything I say – so cute!
4. Laurie Berkner – she sings the cutest kids songs – Christian and I both sing along in the car in the morning 😉
5. All of the wonderful new clients I have met through my Plum District deal – I was a little iffy on doing one but I am so glad I did!
