Mom and me <3

As per the norm my poor blog has been neglected over the past few months while I spent every waking moment editing holiday sessions – now that they are all out and cards have been sent I can share some images from some of my favorite sessions! This gorgeous mom and daughter duo have been in front of my camera before – they are so much fun to hang with – the little gal kept me laughing the whole time. Beauty obviously runs in this family – it was so hard to choose just a few to share!

graces . . .

1. Survived my first holiday portrait season with two kiddos . . . barely!

2. My amazing mom and mother in law for watching my kiddos all day every weekend day from beginning of Sept through end of Nov – couldn’t have done it without them!

3. A few days off this week to hang with my kiddos and hubs – much needed downtime after the busy holiday season!

4. Everyone seems to be back to normal after the worst flu ever blew through my entire family – my parents included.

5. Closing the books on another successful year doing what I love – so thankful for all of my amazing clients <3

One!!

My sweet baby girl,

I just put you to bed after a full day of birthday activities – I can hardly believe a year has flown by already and you are well on your way to being a toddler. I honestly can’t remember what life was like before you – you are such an important part of this family. It is no secret that I never imagined myself a girl mom – always thought I’d raise a house full of boys – pink, purses, shoes and tutus just aren’t my thing but along you came and now I can’t imagine not having my girl – and I promise to let you dance if you want to 🙂

I worried a bit about how your brother would adjust to you after being an only child for close to five years but from day one he has loved you and you him. He is so sweet with you and you just light up when you see him – I love watching your relationship develop. You guys share a room and in the morning I can hear you laughing over his antics 🙂 You’re a bit more feisty than your brother was at this age but still a fairly easy baby. You were an amazing sleeper from day one – sleeping 5-6 hours stretches in the beginning and up to ten hours a night by 10 weeks. The last few weeks you’ve been waking up in the middle of the night so I’m suspecting a growth spurt or maybe some new teeth on the way. You have 7 teeth so far – four on the top and three on the bottom 🙂 You are my little thumb sucker which is incredibly cute now especially when you snuggle up with your lovie but I’m sure when I’m trying to break you of the habit in a few years I won’t think it’s so cute 😉

You just started pulling up to stand and have taken a few wobbly steps while hanging on for dear life to the side of the couch – I suspect you will be a late walker but you can crawl at lightning speed and love to do laps around Grandma and Papa’s house. You were slow to warm up to foods but now eat just about anything we give you – your favorites are yogurt, cheese, banana, rice biscuits, grilled cheese, green beans and bread. You especially like things you can pick up yourself and when you’ve decided you’re done eating you just start pitching the food pieces over the side of your seat. Shadow appreciates this and camps out under your chair while you eat. You say mama and dada and I have heard a papa or two – you babble tons but not much else makes sense to us yet. You love music, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, your pink sheep and whatever your brother is playing with.

This first year with you has been amazing little girl – I have loved watching you grow and feel so blessed to be your mama. I cannot wait to see what life has in store for you and your brother. Happy Birthday Ellie girl – mama, dada and brother love you so so much <3

Fun props and a furry friend :)

This was my first time meeting this family and I loved their session – one of my favorite spots combined with amazing weather and lighting. Their adorable little guy reminded me a lot of my own – especially with his beloved bear who was part of the family and had to make a few appearances in their shoot. Mom brought a few amazing props that made the session lots of fun – it was hard to pick just a few favorites!

graces . . .

1. My sweet babe is on the mend after being under the weather the last week and a half <3

2. The rain stayed away till the end of my last session last weekend after threatening to ruin my shoot plans – I know we need the rain but I’d prefer it stick to mon-fri 😉

3. My own fall family portraits are booked and outfit planning is in full effect!

4. The new chicken club sandwich at Jersey Mike’s – yummy!

5. One more week until the tax deadline – then maybe I can get a little more sleep? Haaa

More sandy fun!

Seems I shot quite a few sets of sisters at the beach this summer 🙂 It was my first time meeting this family as well and these two girls were so much fun – we spent the evening laughing and twirling and getting quite sandy and wet!

graces . . .

1. We made it through the corp tax deadline at work – just one more to go!

2. House of Cards – hubby and I are watching this together on our rare nights off and it is great!

3. Celebrating my mom this weekend for her birthday <3

4. New phone is on order – my screen has been cracked for over a year so looking forward to a new one!

5. Gapcash – need I say more?!
