These gorgeous kiddos belong to one of my bestest friends from high school – we met in 10th grade and were inseperable for the next three years until we went off to college. We have remained friends through the years and I feel blessed to remain part of her life as her family grows.
and some graces . . .

1. Being greeted with a hug and the biggest smile ever
2. Friendships that last through the years – the good times, bad times, life changes etc
3. Seeing people come together to help someone in need
4. Having that one person that you can pick up the phone and call no matter the time of day or night
5. The chance to say good-bye
The last few weeks have been tough for me – a good friend of mine that I have known since elementary school suffered a brain aneurysm and was in a coma until he was taken off life support. He was only 31 years old and leaves behind a wife and two beautiful girls. To say he was a nice guy is an understatement – he was the nicest I’ve ever met. Everyone who knew him loved him and that has been made clearer over the last couple of weeks as hundreds of people have rallied around him in the hospital, praying for him to wake up and then praying for his family when we found out he wouldn’t. Then that same group of people started arranging prayer circles and fundraisers and events to honor his life and raise money to help his girls get through this trying time. People are amazing – and the fact that all of these people loved Felipe so much is even more amazing. He will be deeply missed and I look forward to seeing him again some day. Until then I hope he is resting peacefully knowing that his girls will be taken care of. If you’d like to help – there will be a Birthday Party/Celebration of Life Fundraiser event at On The Rocks in Redondo on Friday, September 23rd starting at 7:00. They will be raffling off some great prizes as well as excepting donations at the door to help his family – come on down celebrate a wonderful man with us 🙂
